You are here: Visiting Tilting - Attractions - Other Attractions - Oliver's Cove
The main road through Tilting is dotted with many turn-offs and paths. One of these turn-offs is an unpaved road, called Poore's Lane, that leads to Oliver's Cove, an excellent example of what Tilting must have looked like many years ago. With picket fences defining the lanes, well-maintained gardens and pastures, and a clear ocean view it is plain to see the beauty of land unaffected by modern activities. Previously Oliver's Cove was inhabited by two Hurley families, but today it is an abandoned community. However the gardens are still frequently used by the residents of Tilting to grow crops, and house animals, such as sheep. You will also find numerous root cellars, hen houses, a rocky beach, hiking trails, and Tilting's softball field.
