Town Of Tilting Permit Info

Residents are reminded that they must obtain a permit before any type of construction or demolition occurs within the municipality of Tilting.

This is in accordance with Section 194 (A), (B) and (C) of the municipalities Act 1999, which states that:

A person shall not within a municipality
(A) erect a building
(B) extend, repair, relocate or demolish an existing building; or
(C) change the use for which an existing building is or was last held or occupied,
except in accordance with written permit from the council.

Also, in accordance with section 200(1) of the Municipalities Act 1999, which states:
A building, structure, or land designated by council as a heritage building, structure or land shall not be demolished or built upon not the exterior of the building or structure altered, except under a written permit of the council specifically authorizing the alteration and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the permit.

The cost of permits is as follows:
New Buildings $10
General Maintenance/Repairs $5
